Celebrating 100 years of dedicated service to the Valley

The Mahoning Chapter of the American Red Cross was chartered in August, 1910.  For 100 years, the Chapter has upheld the mission of providing disaster relief, support to military families and educating members of the Community.  As this year marks our 100th anniversary, please join us for exciting events, programs, and celebrations in the Mahoning Valley.

CPR REFRESHER/REVIEW

During March, National American Red Cross month,

and in recognition of 100 years of service to the

MahoningValley (1910-2010) the American Red Cross

Mahoning Chapter is offering Adult CPR Refresher/

Review classes at the discounted rate of $19.10 with

advance registration and $20.10 day of class.

CPR Refresher/Review is designed to refresh overall

knowledge and skill levels of individuals who have

been certified in Adult CPR within the past 12-18 months.

It is ideal simply as a refresher course, or can be

used for recertification if needed.

Recertification requires passing a written exam

as well as demonstrating scene safety,

choking rescues and full CPR in an adult.

"Heart Signs" and " CPR Simple"

Are you interested in being prepared for an

emergency?  Do you have loved ones who may have

be at risk for a cardiac emergency?  The American

Red Cross is here to help! February is "Heart Month"

and the American Red Cross Mahoning Chapter

will be offering 2 simple and practical classes

to help YOU learn the early signs of a heart

attack, and what to do in case of an emergency.

Heart Signs is a wonderful, practical 1 hour presentation

in plain language about early signs and symptoms of heart

attack, the value of early recognition, and how to take care

of someone who may be suffering from a cardiac

emergency.

This is an informal program and does not require testing,

hands-on skill or certification.  The nominal $3.00 fee

assures each participant will have valuable materials

to take home and help make the entire family a little safer.

Classes are scheduled:

Sun. Feb. 14- 11:00am-12:30pm

Tues. Feb. 16- 4:30-6:00pm

Tues. Feb. 23- 9:30-11:00am

Simple CPR is a 90 minute program designed specifically

for those unable or unwilling to do mouth-to-mouth

breathing, but who are still willing to help in an emergency.

The $10.00 course fee includes a handy CPR practice

tool for each participant to keep.

Classes are scheduled:

Sat. Feb. 20- 9:30-11:00am

All classes will be held at the Chapter located at

8392 Tod Ave in Boardman, across from the Davis

Family YMCA on McClurg Road.  To register,

call 330-726-6063 or register here on the website.

If you would like the Red Cross to come to your

business or organization for a class, please call for details.

Remember- As each one learns,

we all become a little safer.
